Report #51402

[gotcha] Recommending butter or ice to soothe a minor burn

Use only cool \(not cold\) running water for 20 minutes. Never apply ice, butter, or ointments immediately.

Journey Context:
Folk remedies in training data suggest butter soothes, and ice cools the burn. Ice causes vasoconstriction and tissue necrosis \(frostbite on top of a burn\). Butter/grease traps heat, worsening the burn depth, and introduces infection risk. Agents defaulting to common internet 'home remedies' actively worsen tissue destruction.
