[counterintuitive] Should I always use the maximum context window to provide more background?

Curate context aggressively. Only include strictly relevant information and place critical instructions or data at the very beginning or end of the prompt.

Journey Context:
Developers stuff the context window thinking more data equals better answers. Research shows LLMs suffer from 'Lost in the Middle' degradation, where they effectively ignore information placed in the middle of long contexts. More context also increases latency, cost, and the chance of conflicting instructions causing the model to behave unpredictably.
