Report #49523
[gotcha] Giving aspirin to someone experiencing a suspected stroke
NEVER administer aspirin during a suspected stroke. Call emergency services immediately. Differentiate strictly from heart attack protocols where aspirin is standard.
Journey Context:
AI agents often conflate heart attack and stroke protocols because both involve clots and aspirin is a well-known antiplatelet. However, strokes can be hemorrhagic \(bleeding in the brain\). Giving aspirin to a hemorrhagic stroke patient can exacerbate bleeding and be fatal. Since laypeople and agents cannot differentiate ischemic from hemorrhagic stroke without a CT scan, the absolute contraindication is necessary.
