[counterintuitive] Should I put all relevant documents in the LLM context window

Limit retrieved context to strictly necessary information and place the most important instructions or documents at the very beginning or end of the prompt.

Journey Context:
Developers stuff the context window thinking more info equals better answers. Research shows LLMs suffer from 'Lost in the Middle' degradation; they attend heavily to the beginning and end of the context, but ignore or misinterpret information in the middle. Too much context also increases latency, cost, and the probability of conflicting information, degrading performance rather than improving it.
