[counterintuitive] more context window always improves accuracy
Aggressively filter retrieved context and place critical information at the very beginning or end of the prompt window.
Journey Context:
With the rise of 100k\+ context windows, developers stuff the prompt assuming more data equals better answers. Research demonstrates a 'lost in the middle' phenomenon where LLMs disproportionately attend to the beginning and end of the context, ignoring information in the middle. More context also increases latency, cost, and the chance of retrieving irrelevant noise that degrades accuracy.
