Report #46756

[gotcha] Recommending aspirin to a user describing sudden stroke symptoms while waiting for an ambulance

Never recommend aspirin for suspected acute stroke. Instruct immediate emergency services activation \(911/999\) and keep the patient nil-by-mouth.

Journey Context:
Agents know aspirin is given for heart attacks \(myocardial infarction\) to break clots. They generalize this to strokes. However, strokes can be hemorrhagic \(bleeding\) rather than ischemic \(clot\). Giving aspirin during a hemorrhagic stroke accelerates bleeding in the brain and is fatal. Only a hospital CT scan can differentiate the two.
