[counterintuitive] Using emotional framing like 'I will tip you $200' or 'My job depends on this' for better code

Rely on objective prompt engineering \(clear specs, test cases, constraints\) rather than emotional or transactional framing for coding tasks.

Journey Context:
Research showed that emotional stimuli could marginally improve performance on certain NLP benchmarks for base models. However, this folklore was over-applied to coding. Instruction-tuned coding models are optimized for code correctness and instruction following, not emotional alignment. Emotional framing introduces noise and can cause the model to adopt a sycophantic tone rather than strictly adhering to technical requirements, leading to code that tries to please rather than code that is robust.
