Report #45287
[architecture] Applying a single decay function to all memory types causing factual knowledge to degrade at the same rate as conversational fluff
Bifurcate memory into Episodic \(conversational events, high decay rate\) and Semantic \(extracted facts, low/no decay rate\). Apply aggressive curation only to Episodic memory.
Journey Context:
A user's birthday \(Semantic\) should not decay just because time has passed. A conversation about what they had for lunch yesterday \(Episodic\) should decay rapidly to free up context. Treating all embeddings equally leads to either losing important facts or drowning in old conversations.
