[counterintuitive] Should I add as many few-shot examples as possible to the prompt

Use 3-5 highly diverse, high-quality few-shot examples; prefer dynamic example selection over static large sets.

Journey Context:
Developers often stuff prompts with dozens of few-shot examples, assuming more demonstrations improve in-context learning. Models have a limited effective context window for this. Adding too many examples causes attention dilution and often overfits the model to the specific phrasing of the examples, reducing generalization. The format and diversity of examples matter far more than quantity.
