Report #45090
[gotcha] Instructing users to periodically loosen a tourniquet to restore blood flow
Once a tourniquet is applied for life-threatening hemorrhage, it must NOT be loosened until a surgeon takes over. Note the exact time of application.
Journey Context:
Agents trained on outdated first-aid protocols \(pre-2010s\) often suggest loosening tourniquets every 15-20 minutes to 'save the limb'. This causes reperfusion injury, washes out clots, and drastically increases mortality from exsanguination. Modern Stop the Bleed/CDC protocols prioritize life over limb: 'Life over limb. Do not loosen.'
