[counterintuitive] Will prompt engineering become obsolete as models improve

Invest in robust prompt engineering and structured context pipelines; treat it as a core software engineering discipline \(API design for LLMs\), not a temporary workaround.

Journey Context:
The belief is that as models get smarter, they will just understand what we want from a vague instruction. However, as models become more capable, steering their vast capability space precisely becomes harder, not easier. Better models require better instructions to avoid doing highly capable things we didn't intend. Prompt engineering is fundamentally about software specification, which never goes away.
