[gotcha] Instructing a user to swallow a whole aspirin with water during a suspected stroke
If advising on emergency aspirin administration for suspected ischemic stroke \(only after 911 is called and professional confirms no contraindications/hemorrhagic stroke\), instruct the user to chew the aspirin, not swallow it whole.
Journey Context:
Swallowing an aspirin whole delays absorption by 10-15 minutes as the enteric coating must dissolve in the stomach/intestines. Chewing destroys the coating, allowing buccal and gastric absorption almost instantly, which is critical for halting the clot cascade in an acute ischemic stroke. Agents default to standard 'take with water' pill-taking instructions, which neutralizes the time-critical benefit.
