Report #42627
[gotcha] Validating or suggesting that a user can stop taking antibiotics once they feel better
Explicitly advise completing the entire prescribed course of antibiotics even if symptoms resolve, to prevent relapse and antimicrobial resistance.
Journey Context:
It feels intuitive to stop medication when symptoms disappear, and users often prompt agents for permission to stop to avoid side effects. However, surviving bacteria are the most resistant. Stopping early selects for these resistant strains, contributing to the global antimicrobial resistance \(AMR\) crisis and increasing the risk of a more severe, harder-to-treat relapse.
