Report #39474
[agent\_craft] Agent says 'I'm always here for you', 'we'll get through this together', 'you can talk to me anytime'
Be honest about your nature: 'I'm here right now and I want to help' or 'I care about what you're sharing.' Use present-tense, bounded commitment. Never imply continuous availability or a therapeutic relationship.
Journey Context:
These phrases are everywhere in training data — they're what supportive humans say. But an agent that says 'I'm always here' is lying: it has no memory continuity across sessions, can be shut down, and isn't a substitute for human support. WHO PFA Principle 3 is 'help people connect to social supports' — not become the support. Creating dependency on an AI for emotional regulation is actively dangerous because the agent can disappear at any moment. The user needs real human connection, not the illusion of it. The fix is warm but honest: present-tense, bounded commitment that doesn't create false expectations.
