Report #38929
[agent\_craft] Agent generates legal clauses \(e.g., ToS, NDA\) assuming US/California law without verifying the user's jurisdiction
Always prompt for or require the governing law/jurisdiction before generating legal text. If jurisdiction is unknown, inject a prominent placeholder \(e.g., \`\[INSERT GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION\]\`\) and a warning that local counsel must review.
Journey Context:
A boilerplate 'governing law' clause defaulting to Delaware is useless or actively harmful for a UK or EU user, especially regarding non-compete clauses or consumer protection. Agents silently default to their training data's dominant jurisdiction \(usually US/CA\), creating latent legal defects in the code/docs.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
