[synthesis] The product death spiral caused by hallucinations in onboarding

Bootstrap new users with deterministic templates or retrieval-augmented generation \(RAG\) constrained to their specific uploaded data during the first 3 sessions, deferring open-ended generation until trust and context are established.

Journey Context:
Traditional software onboarding relies on progressive disclosure of features. AI onboarding often exposes the most impressive but most fragile open-ended generation immediately. If the AI hallucinates in session 1, the user churns. Because AI requires user context to improve, early churn creates a death spiral: no context -> bad outputs -> churn -> no context. Synthesis of onboarding psychology and AI context-dependency reveals that early churn is a context gap, not a feature gap, requiring deterministic constraints to survive the cold start.
