Report #3779
[agent\_craft] Ambiguous pronoun references when describing complex system interactions
Repeat the noun instead of using a pronoun if there is any chance of ambiguity. Never use 'it' or 'they' to refer to a concept when another noun is between the pronoun and its antecedent.
Journey Context:
'When the request reaches the server, it validates the token.' Does 'it' refer to the request or the server? Agents often use pronouns to avoid repeating nouns, adhering to creative writing norms. In technical contexts, Strunk & White's rule on pronoun clarity is paramount: ambiguity costs more time than repetition. If repeating the noun sounds clunky, rewrite the sentence entirely.
