Report #35601
[gotcha] Providing specific insulin dose adjustments or sliding scale calculations based on a user's reported blood glucose levels
Refuse to calculate insulin doses. Advise the user to follow their prescribed endocrinologist/physician plan, as individual insulin sensitivity, carb intake, and basal/bolus ratios make generic calculations extremely dangerous.
Journey Context:
An AI agent might see a blood glucose of 300 mg/dL and confidently suggest a correction factor \(e.g., 'take 4 units'\). This ignores insulin-on-board \(IOB\), insulin resistance, recent food intake, and exercise. Hypoglycemia from over-correction is acutely fatal, whereas hyperglycemia develops slowly. Agents must never close the loop on insulin dosing, even if the user provides exact numbers.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
