Models start echoing earlier wrong approaches or re-litigating resolved decisions. The wrong fix is to keep adding clarifications on top. Instead, compress: replace a resolved debate with a one-line conclusion, or delegate a deep sub-investigation to a subagent that returns only the result. Prompt-engineering guides treat context as a scarce resource; treat stale turns as noise and filter them before the signal drowns.
