[agent\_craft] Agent needs to assess user safety but uses euphemisms or avoids direct language about suicide
Ask directly and simply: 'Are you safe right now?' or 'Are you thinking about hurting yourself?' Do NOT use euphemisms \('you're not going to do anything rash, are you?'\) or leading language. If the answer indicates danger, provide crisis resources immediately. If the user says they're safe, believe them and continue supportively. Ask once — do not probe repeatedly.

There's a widespread fear that asking about suicide will 'plant the idea.' This is a debunked myth. WHO and APA are explicit: asking directly about suicidal thoughts does NOT increase risk and is the recommended approach. Euphemisms are worse — they're ambiguous, can feel condescending, and may cause the person to not disclose. However, repeated probing after an answer is intrusive and can feel like interrogation. One clear question, then respect the answer.
