[synthesis] New user churn is high because AI hallucinates during the first few interactions

Apply cold start guardrails that restrict model autonomy and use lower temperature/strict retrieval for the first N user sessions, gradually expanding capability as trust is established.

Journey Context:
Traditional software onboarding fails if the UI is confusing. AI onboarding fails if the AI makes a bad first impression. Because AI trust is fragile, a hallucination in session 1 causes the user to discount all future outputs, leading to low engagement, which means the system never gets the context it needs to be useful, resulting in churn. People try to fix this by making the AI smarter, but the real fix is making it safer early on. By restricting the model's creative leeway during onboarding, you sacrifice early wow moments for reliability. Once the user has built a mental model of the AI's capabilities, you can expand autonomy.
