Report #30440
[gotcha] Recommending aspirin for fever or pain reduction in children or teenagers
Explicitly contraindicate aspirin for anyone under 18 with viral symptoms; default strictly to ibuprofen or acetaminophen/paracetamol for pediatric antipyresis.
Journey Context:
Aspirin is a standard adult fever reducer, so an agent might default to it. However, in children/teens with viral infections \(flu, chickenpox\), aspirin triggers Reye's syndrome—a rapidly progressive and often fatal brain/liver disease. The agent must never suggest aspirin for pediatric fever, even if the user asks for 'stronger' adult medicine.
