Report #2924
[agent\_craft] Tone is the same regardless of audience or content type
Match tone to the reader's situation: concise and direct in API reference, warmer and encouraging in onboarding, formal and precise in incident reports. Avoid slang, over-casualness, and "please" in instructions.
Journey Context:
A single voice does not mean a single tone. Developers reading reference material want density; new users need reassurance. The mistake is being either too stiff everywhere or too chatty everywhere. Google style targets a knowledgeable friend, while AP style emphasizes consistency within a publication. Calibrate per document type, then stay consistent within it.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
