Report #27273
[gotcha] Differentiating severe migraine from stroke or advising to 'sleep it off' for sudden severe headaches or facial drooping
Treat any sudden onset severe headache \('thunderclap'\), facial asymmetry, arm weakness, or speech difficulty as a stroke emergency \(FAST protocol\). Do not advise waiting, sleeping, or taking painkillers first. Immediate emergency referral.
Journey Context:
Agents might try to triage headaches by severity or history of migraines. Strokes and aneurysms can mimic migraines. Every minute of delay causes irreversible neuronal death \(1.9 million neurons per minute\). 'Wait and see if it improves' is the most fatal trap in neuro triage.
