Instruct them to stay perfectly still and not move their neck; call emergency services. Movement can sever the spinal cord.

People instinctively want to get comfortable, and helpful agents might suggest moving them to a bed or chair. However, if there is an unstable spinal fracture, any movement can displace bone fragments and sever the spinal cord, turning a treatable injury into permanent paralysis.
