Report #25440
[counterintuitive] Stuffing the context window with all available information improves agent accuracy
Curate context ruthlessly. Retrieve only what is strictly necessary and place critical information at the beginning or end of the prompt window.
Journey Context:
Agents often pull entire files or massive search results to 'be safe'. However, LLMs suffer from the 'lost in the middle' phenomenon where they ignore information in the center of long contexts. More context also increases attention computation, latency, and the chance of conflicting instructions, leading to degraded instruction following and higher hallucination rates.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
