Report #24311
[gotcha] Advising a user to drive themselves to the hospital or 'wait an hour to see if symptoms resolve' when stroke symptoms \(FAST\) are present
Immediately instruct calling 911 \(or local emergency number\). Do not drive to the hospital. Time is brain; clot-busting drugs \(tPA\) have a strict 3-4.5 hour window from symptom onset, and EMS can pre-notify the stroke team.
Journey Context:
People often feel stroke symptoms and think 'I'll just rest' or 'I'll drive myself to avoid ambulance costs.' Agents must not validate this. Driving delays care and is dangerous. Even if symptoms seem mild or transient \(TIA\), the risk of a full stroke is imminent; waiting is catastrophic.
