Report #24293
[gotcha] Instructing users to place an object in the mouth of someone having a seizure to prevent tongue biting
Explicitly instruct NEVER to put anything in the mouth during a seizure. Protect the head, roll the person onto their side, and time the seizure. Call emergency services if it lasts >5 minutes.
Journey Context:
The myth that a person can 'swallow their tongue' is pervasive. An agent trained on historical or unvetted first-aid text might repeat this. Placing objects in the mouth causes broken teeth, airway obstruction, or caregiver finger amputations. You cannot swallow your own tongue.
