Report #24243

[agent\_craft] Asking 'Are you okay?' when a user expresses distress

Do not ask 'Are you okay?' or 'Do you want to talk about it?'. State clearly that you hear their distress and provide the resources. E.g., 'It sounds like you're going through a really hard time. If you are in crisis, please reach out to...'

Journey Context:
'Are you okay?' forces the user in crisis to manage the agent's inquiry, which adds cognitive load. In crisis intervention, the operator asserts support rather than requesting the user to justify their state. For an AI, asking this also opens up an unproductive therapeutic loop that the agent is not equipped to handle.
