Report #2416
[agent\_craft] Using future tense to describe system behavior in documentation
Use simple present tense \(e.g., 'The function returns' instead of 'The function will return'\).
Journey Context:
Future tense adds unnecessary words and implies uncertainty about the system's behavior. Present tense is direct, confident, and reduces cognitive load. Google Dev-Doc and plainlanguage.gov both explicitly forbid future tense for describing actions because it delays comprehension and makes instructions sound like predictions rather than facts.
