[counterintuitive] Prompt engineering is a temporary hack that will be obviated by better models

Treat prompt engineering as a core systems engineering discipline. Design modular, parameterized prompts with clear system/user boundaries, and maintain them as versioned code.

Journey Context:
The belief is that as models get smarter, we can just talk to them casually. However, software systems require deterministic interfaces, reliable state machines, and strict input/output contracts. Even as natural language understanding improves, the need to precisely define an agent's persona, constraints, tool usage protocols, and state transitions in a structured way remains a permanent requirement for building robust agentic workflows.
