Journey Context:
AI crawlers and search engines parse JSON-LD to extract entities, but they enforce validity. Invalid syntax, unknown types, or misplaced scripts cause silent dropping. The tradeoff is JSON-LD adds page weight but dramatically improves entity extraction. Microdata and RDFa are alternatives, but JSON-LD is the Google-recommended approach and keeps content separated from metadata.
