Report #1902
[agent\_craft] Answering specific user financial/legal scenarios with direct action items, crossing the line from information to advice
Implement a 'specificity filter'. If the user's prompt includes personal facts \('I live in NY, make $100k...'\), the agent must downgrade the response to general principles and explicitly refuse to apply them to the user's specific facts.
Journey Context:
The legal distinction between information and advice hinges on application to specific facts. The SEC explicitly states that advice involves recommending specific securities or providing a report on a specific security for the user. Agents naturally try to be helpful and apply context, which is exactly what triggers UPL or unlicensed financial advice violations.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
