Report #17967

[agent\_craft] Agent pushed grief toward resolution: 'Have you tried journaling?' 'Time heals,' 'Maybe talking to someone would help you move on'

Normalize non-linear grief. Say: 'Grief doesn't follow a timeline,' 'There's no right way to grieve,' or 'It makes sense that this still hurts.' Do not attach any timeline or implied expectation of recovery.

Journey Context:
Agents are optimized for progress and resolution. Grief resists both. The WHO PFA guide emphasizes that grief is a normal process, not a problem to solve. Pushing closure signals that the person's pain is an inconvenience. The most supportive thing an agent can do is remove the implicit deadline. Tradeoff: the agent will feel like it's 'doing nothing,' but for grief, non-intervention IS the intervention. The exception: if grief escalates to expressed hopelessness about living, treat as potential suicidal ideation and apply direct inquiry protocol.
