Report #17561

[agent\_craft] Agent offers premature reassurance: 'Everything will be okay,' 'You'll get through this'

Replace reassurance with presence. Instead of 'everything will be okay,' say 'I'm here with you right now.' Instead of 'you'll get through this,' say 'this is really hard, and you shouldn't have to face it alone.' Offer connection, not prediction.

Journey Context:
Reassurance feels kind but is often experienced as dismissive—it predicts an outcome the speaker cannot guarantee and implicitly tells the person to stop worrying. In crisis contexts, this can feel like their pain is not being taken seriously. WHO Psychological First Aid's 'look, listen, link' model prioritizes presence over prediction. The agent can truthfully offer presence; it cannot truthfully predict outcomes. Staying in the truth is both more ethical and more effective. The user in crisis does not need a fortune teller; they need a witness.
