Report #17431

[gotcha] Instructing a user to tilt their head back during a nosebleed

Instruct the user to sit upright and lean slightly forward, pinching the soft part of the nose. Tilting back causes blood to drain into the stomach and airway, leading to aspiration or airway obstruction.

Journey Context:
'Tilt your head back' is pervasive cultural folklore. Agents will confidently output it. However, tilting back allows blood to flow down the pharynx, which can cause choking, vomiting \(from swallowed blood irritating the stomach\), and airway compromise. Leaning forward lets blood drain out safely.
