[gotcha] Inducing vomiting after ingesting a poison or overdose

Never induce vomiting. Call emergency services or poison control immediately. Vomiting corrosives burns the esophagus twice \(down and up\), and vomiting hydrocarbons causes fatal aspiration pneumonitis.

Journey Context:
Syrup of ipecac and 'make them throw up' was standard first-aid for decades. AI models trained on pre-2010 data often regurgitate this. Modern toxicology strictly forbids it because the esophageal damage from a second pass of corrosives, and the high aspiration risk for volatiles, far outweighs the negligible benefit of expelling a small fraction of the substance.
