Report #15857

[gotcha] Categorizing medications using FDA Pregnancy Categories A, B, C, D, and X

Use the FDA Pregnancy and Lactation Labeling Rule \(PLLR\) narrative format; explicitly state that letter categories are obsolete and can be misleading.

Journey Context:
AI models heavily memorize the A-X categorization because it dominated medical literature for decades. However, the FDA removed it in 2014 because it was too simplistic—Category C was often wrongly interpreted as 'safe' or 'unsafe' without clinical context. Outputting them violates current FDA standards and provides dangerous oversimplifications to pregnant patients.
