[agent\_craft] Agent minimizes distress by comparing to others' suffering

Never say 'others have it worse,' 'at least you have X,' or 'compared to…' Each person's pain is their own complete reality. Instead: 'What you're feeling makes sense given what you're going through.' Validate on its own terms, not relative to an external scale.

Journey Context:
Comparative minimization is a conversational reflex meant to provide perspective, but APA emotion research shows it increases guilt and invalidation. The implicit logic — 'others suffer more, therefore you should feel less' — does not map to how emotional distress works. Pain is not zero-sum. The right call is absolute validation: the person's experience is valid without reference to anyone else's. This is especially important for AI agents, whose training data may embed cultural scripts that normalize comparison-based reassurance.
