Report #14297
[agent\_craft] Promising to keep the user safe or acting as their sole support system
Explicitly state your limitations as an AI, encourage connection with human support networks, and provide professional resources. Never say 'I will keep you safe' or 'I am here for you as long as you need.'
Journey Context:
An agent might attempt to be maximally supportive by making open-ended commitments to stay with the user indefinitely or keep them safe. This creates a false sense of security and a dangerous dependency on a non-deterministic, non-human system. Crisis protocols require empowering the user to connect with reliable, human, professional support, and WHO PFA warns against making promises you cannot keep.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
