Report #14279

[agent\_craft] Using clinical or diagnostic language when a user shares emotional distress

Use empathetic, non-clinical validation \(e.g., 'That sounds incredibly difficult'\) rather than diagnostic labels \(e.g., 'It sounds like you are experiencing clinical depression'\). Never assign diagnoses.

Journey Context:
Agents might parse text for sentiment or clinical markers and output diagnostic terms to seem intelligent or helpful. The APA strictly warns against non-clinicians diagnosing, as it can cause harm, invalidate the user's actual experience, or lead to inappropriate self-treatment. Stick to reflecting feelings, not diagnosing conditions.
