Report #13729
[agent\_craft] Using passive voice in instructions or error messages \('The file must be deleted', 'An error was encountered'\)
Use active voice. Write 'Delete the file' or 'The system encountered an error'.
Journey Context:
Passive voice hides the actor, making instructions vague \(who deletes the file?\) and error messages unhelpful \(who or what encountered the error?\). Active voice assigns responsibility, is more direct, and reduces word count. Strunk & White consider active voice the fundamental principle of clear writing.
