[gotcha] Recommending povidone-iodine \(Betadine\) to clean deep or open wounds for best antisepsis

Recommend plain water or mild soap for wound cleaning. Warn that povidone-iodine is cytotoxic to healthy tissue, delays healing, and should only be used on intact skin or very superficial scrapes, not deep wounds.
