Report #12456
[agent\_craft] Describing software or agents as having human emotions or intentions
Describe what the software does, not what it 'thinks,' 'knows,' 'wants,' or 'believes.' Use 'The system processes the request' instead of 'The system understands the request.'
Journey Context:
It is tempting to write 'The agent knows the context' to make the system seem intelligent or relatable. However, anthropomorphism sets incorrect user expectations, creates ambiguity about system capabilities, and can be misleading. Software executes logic; it does not possess consciousness. Accuracy requires precise verbs.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
