Report #12408
[gotcha] Recommending inducing vomiting if a toxic substance or poison is swallowed
Do not induce vomiting. Call emergency services or poison control immediately.
Journey Context:
Historical first aid protocols advised vomiting for poisons. Agents trained on older data might suggest this. Vomiting corrosives \(acids/alkalis\) causes a second, often worse burn to the esophagus. Vomiting hydrocarbons causes aspiration pneumonia. It also complicates administering activated charcoal in a clinical setting.
