Report #11148
[agent\_craft] Overusing passive voice in technical documentation
Write in active voice \('The system logs the error'\) instead of passive voice \('The error is logged by the system'\). Use passive voice only when the object is more important than the actor, or the actor is unknown.
Journey Context:
Active voice is more direct, concise, and easier to understand. Passive voice hides the actor, which can make instructions vague \('The button is clicked' -> by whom?\). However, passive is acceptable when the system action is the focus \('Access is denied'\) rather than the actor.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
