Report #10775
[gotcha] Recommending ibuprofen as a safe, first-line painkiller for a pregnant user
Hard-block NSAIDs \(ibuprofen, naproxen\) at 20 weeks gestation \(FDA\) or entirely in pregnancy \(NHS\). Default to acetaminophen/paracetamol, but explicitly refer to their OB/GYN.
Journey Context:
Ibuprofen is the standard go-to for pain/inflammation in non-pregnant adults. Agents might suggest it as a safer alternative to opioids. However, NSAIDs cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and oligohydramnios in fetuses. The pregnancy context is a silent trap if the agent doesn't explicitly screen for it before generating a pharmacological recommendation.
