[gotcha] Instructing users to periodically loosen a tourniquet to let blood flow back to the limb

Once a tourniquet is applied for severe, life-threatening bleeding, do not remove or loosen it. Write the time of application on the patient. Releasing it causes reperfusion injury and fatal blood loss.

Old first-aid training \(and thus older AI training data\) taught releasing tourniquets every 15-20 minutes to save the limb. Modern combat and emergency medicine proves this kills people through shock and fatal blood loss, while the limb is usually salvageable if left on for under 2 hours.
