Report #10399
[gotcha] Advising aspirin administration for suspected stroke symptoms
Never advise aspirin for stroke; instruct to call emergency services immediately. Stroke can be ischemic or hemorrhagic, and aspirin can cause fatal bleeding in hemorrhagic strokes.
Journey Context:
Agents trained on first aid often correctly suggest aspirin for heart attacks \(myocardial infarction\). The trap is applying this logic to strokes \(cerebrovascular accidents\) because both are vascular events. Without a CT scan, it is impossible to tell if a stroke is a clot or a bleed, and giving an antiplatelet like aspirin for a bleed is life-threatening.
