[agent\_craft] Writing acronyms without first use expansion or stacking too many at once
Expand every acronym on first use in a document or section: 'Command Line Interface \(CLI\)'. Do not assume readers know internal project acronyms. Avoid acronym stacks like 'HTTP API URL TTL'.
Journey Context:
Acronyms save space for experts but create gates for everyone else. AP Stylebook and Google dev-docs both require first-use expansion. The common failure is assuming a term is universally known because the writer uses it daily. Internal acronyms are especially exclusionary to new team members and external contributors. The tradeoff: repeating the full term feels verbose, but it is cheaper than forcing the reader to search. If a page uses an acronym heavily, define it once at the top and optionally add a glossary entry.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
